In an embarrassing moment, CTV News was awarded an award given for the best satire in error. “As God as my witness, I thought it was satire. I really did, man. It goes to show how life imitates art. Or is it the other way around? I forget”, said Lothar Little President of “Real-fake Nooz”.
What led to the erroneous decision?
“We just thought their obsessive blathering about Covid was funny. No serious news outlet could be so absurd we thought. How wrong we were. The funny part? It was in a dead heat with Global News and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation!’ Little explained.
“But it was a real dickens to get the award back from CTV. Seems like they still don’t realize it’s a satire award and they’re supposed to be a - ahem - reputable news service. Cough.
“It’s ours. We won it fair and square. I love the swirl!'“ said Lisa Laflamme on behalf of all editors at CTV.
“They’ll have to come get it if they want it back” she barked.
“Nah. They can keep it.” Little said.
“They may still earn it yet.”
